Explainly (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Explainly mobile application (“the App”).

Information We Process

Explainly allows users to paste, scan, or upload text and documents for the purpose of generating explanations.

To provide explanations, the content you submit may be processed temporarily by third-party AI services. This processing is strictly limited to generating explanations and related features.

Explainly does not require account creation or sign-in.

Information We Do Not Collect

Explainly does not:

• Require your name, email address, or phone number

• Create user profiles

• Track you across apps or websites

• Sell or share personal data for advertising purposes

User Content

Content you provide (such as pasted text or scanned documents):

• Is used only to generate explanations and related features

• Is stored locally on your device unless you choose to save it

• Can be deleted by you at any time from within the App

Saved explanations remain on your device unless you remove them.

AI Processing

To generate explanations, some content may be sent securely to third-party AI services for processing. This content is used only to generate the requested explanation and is not used by Explainly to identify you.

Explainly does not train its own models using your personal content.

Subscriptions & Purchases

Explainly offers optional in-app subscriptions processed through Apple’s App Store. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple. Explainly does not receive or store payment details.

Analytics & Diagnostics

Explainly may use limited analytics or crash diagnostics to improve app performance and reliability. These services do not include personal content or document text.

Data Retention

Explainly does not retain user content on external servers. Content is processed temporarily for explanation purposes and is not stored by Explainly beyond the user’s device unless explicitly saved by the user.

Children’s Privacy

Explainly is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
